Hear Live Music at Waltham Common’s Free Tuesday Evening Concert Series

Summer's a splendid time to get outdoors, and a great way to do it near Windsor Village at Waltham is by checking out one of the free Tuesday evening concerts on Waltham Common. They happen from 7 to 8:30 p.m. each Tuesday throughout the summer, bringing musicians playing rock, country, international, and kinds of music.

You can see a full list of upcoming shows by visiting the Waltham Arts Council's website. A few upcoming performances include concerts by the Tom Bruhl Trio, SeaBreeze, and the Waltham American Legion Band. The series will conclude for the year on August 25 with a showcase of music from the 50s and 60s performed by Reminisants.

If you'd like to attend one of the concerts, bring a blanket or a chair to Waltham Common — and some cash if you'd like to buy popcorn or pizza during the show!

Copper House Tavern: Tasty Food near Windsor Village at Waltham

Located just a short trip from Windsor Village at Waltham at 380 Winter Street, Copper House Tavern has become a popular local destination for enjoying good foor and drink. It certainly doesn't hurt that the place has pleasant outdoor seating, so you can enjoy a burger and a beer on the patio when the weather's nice!

Beer aficionados may be glad to know that Copper House offers more than three dozen craft beers on draft. The styles range from lagers and ales to stouts, originating from craft breweries around the country and even some international breweries. The beer list on the Copper House website currently lists German lagers and pilsners, a number of Belgian beers, plus craft brews from breweries like Left Hand, Dogfish Head, Allagash, and Lagunitas.

The food menu's equally extensive, featuring everything from pizzas and pasta dishes to steaks, fish and chips, sandwiches, salads, and more. In addition to dinner, Copper House Tavern also serves lunch, brunch, and food for late night bites.

Learn about Massachusetts History at Gore Place in Waltham!

Learn about Massachusetts history and see one of the area's most gorgeous historic homes at Gore Place! This Federal period home is just a short trip from Windsor Village at Waltham, but a visit might feel like a trip back in time. The home dates from 1806, and it's still decorated with authentic period furnishings. It sits on acres and acres of land, and it even includes a small working farm!

Visit and you can see the home outfitted with 18th and 19th century artworks plus many other decorative items. Special tours are available to show you around the space, giving attendees context and background for the large rooms once used to entertain guests and the private rooms which once belonged to the Gores. Gore Place even hosts some special events periodically, like a walking tour of the farm taking place on July 9, a summer concert by Adrienne Howard on July 15, and "Toddler Time on the Farm," a kid-friendly event happening one day each month.
